On July 11th nearly 1,000 Quad City area kids packed the Tax Slayer Center for Spring Forward’s 3rd Annual “Step Up for Summer Learning” event.  QCSO 2nd Bassoonist, Matt Kowalczyk, demonstrated his instrument and participants were welcome to try a cello with QCSO cellist and Boys and Girls Club Cello Program instructor, Liz Oar.  Participants were also instructed on how to write four-measure melodies using Classics for Kids Compose Your Own Music tool.

Here are a few melodies from our young composers!
