Boys and Girls Club Cello Program

In 2017, the QCSO and the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley (BGCMV) launched a new initiative aimed at creating access to music education for members of the Davenport and Moline Boys and Girls Clubs. Aligned with the mission of the BGCMV to “enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens” the Boys and Girls Club Cello Program gives members the opportunity to receive twice-weekly group cello lessons from QCSO Cellist, Elisabeth Oar. Students who are accepted to this program are given a new, appropriately sized cello, and all of the accessories needed to engage in music study.
