Prelude Strings is an introductory-preparatory ensemble for young string musicians. Through participation in this orchestra, members improve individual playing technique, develop ensemble skills, and gain valuable performance experience. Students who desire to participate in Prelude Strings should have a minimum of 1 to 2 years playing experience. For students and teachers familiar with the Essential Elements for Strings series, Book Two is a representative playing level for Prelude Strings. Students should be familiar with finger patterns in D major, G major, and C major.
