Optional Dress: Halloween Costumes

  1. You must be able to play your instrument while in costume.
  2. Do not bring real or replica weapons.
  3. Be respectful of other cultures. Dressing up as someone from another culture or ethnic background should always be avoided. Appropriating motifs and cultural artifacts is insensitive and offensive.
  4. Avoid costumes that are too revealing.
  5. Avoid wearing gory or profoundly scary costumes.
  6. Don’t wear a costume that will leave you feeling uncomfortable to sit in for 1-2 hours.
  7. Avoid costumes that allude to social issues. Dressing up in a costume that makes light of or glamorizes other people’s struggles is not permitted. Costumes that make fun of poverty (e.g. homeless person), violence (e.g. “pimp and ho”), racism (e.g. blackface), or disabilities (e.g. blind person) are prohibited.
