Building Harmony the campaign to create a home for music

For more than 100 years, the Quad City Symphony Orchestra has inspired our community through music.

Now we are creating a permanent home for music in the Quad Cities. The campaign to build a Symphony Center for performance, education and community.

Creating a Home for Music

The Quad City Symphony Orchestra and St. Ambrose University are partnering to create a dedicated Symphony Center — a place where musicians, students and audiences can learn, rehearse and perform together.

The Building Harmony campaign will establish a permanent home for the orchestra while expanding access to music education and cultural experiences across the Quad Cities.

Why It Matters

For more than a century, the Quad City Symphony Orchestra has served the region through concerts, education programs and community engagement.

100+ Years

Serving the Quad Cities through music

30,000+ Students

Reached annually through education programs

Top 20

Longest-running orchestras in the United States

$5M Impact

Estimated annual economic impact in the region

Yet the orchestra does not have a permanent home. Rehearsals, education programs and operations currently take place across multiple rented spaces.

A Symphony Center will bring these activities together under one roof, strengthening programs and expanding opportunities for the entire community.

A Place Designed for Music

The Symphony Center will provide purpose-built spaces to support performance, education and collaboration.

The facility will include:

  • Flexible performance and rehearsal hall
  • Classrooms and private lesson studios
  • Youth ensemble rehearsal spaces
  • Expanded music library and instrument storage
  • Offices supporting QCSO programs

Building Harmony Is Already Taking Shape

Building Harmony is a $24 million campaign led by the Quad City Symphony Orchestra in partnership with St. Ambrose University.

The campaign is currently in its silent phase, engaging visionary supporters who share a commitment to music, education and community in the Quad Cities.

Early leadership support is helping lay the foundation for a permanent home for music in our region.
