Dear Musician,
Season 112 is here! Welcome to those joining us for the first time, and welcome back to those who are returning! I am writing to you as your Production Manager, and now new Personnel Manager. I am excited about taking on this role and working with you all in this capacity. Since I am new to the role this season, I ask for your patience as there many things I am learning and applying in real time!
With managing both production and personnel, I will be your point of contact for just about everything, aside from the music, in a concert cycle. I am very happy to answer questions as you have them, and work with you as we go forward.
If you are new, please introduce yourself, and I will be on the lookout to do the same.
Since this is the start of a new season, this is a bit of a longer memo. Please take a moment to read it since there may be different, or even updated, information that you may not have been expecting.

PLAYERS COMMITTEE AND THE CBA
Because we are heading into a new season, I want to make sure the Collective Bargaining Agreement is front and center on your radar. Many questions can be answered just by becoming familiar with that agreement, and will save us both a lot of time. You can access the CBA HERE.
I will also highlight our Players Committee. They will be a great resource to you, and each member will be glad to hear from you.

NEW MUSICIAN ORIENTATION
Saturday, October 3, 12:00-1:00pm in the symphony office, second floor, board room.
Lunch provided.
This event is open to all musicians who have joined in the last five seasons. You are invited to a New Musician Lunch and Orientation with QCSO Executive Director, Brian Baxter. At this casual luncheon, Brian will provide a brief history and overview of the Association’s artistic and educational programs, and will be available for questions.

Below are details for Masterworks I. Please note that the dress codes for Saturday and Sunday differ a bit.

#3 10/2 – 8:00 – 10:00pm, Adler Theater (Beethoven, Berlioz 2, 1) break by 7:00pm
#4 10/3 – 2:00 – 4:30pm, Adler Theater (Berlioz, Dvorak, Beethoven) break by 3:00pm

DRESS CODE:
i. Dress I: Formal – SATURDAY DRESS CODE
The options are the following:
• Black tails with long-sleeved white dress shirt, black cummerbund or white vest, and white bow-tie
• All black full-length gown with long sleeves that do not rise above the elbow while performing
• All black full-length skirt; with black dressy top with same sleeves as above
• All black, full flowing dressy or tailored formal pants; with black dressy top, with same sleeves as above.
• Solid black calf or knee-length socks or black full-length or knee-high stockings in sheer or opaque hosiery (no pattern/no fishnet) with dressy black shoes.
• Formal Alternative for Masterworks I: Color may be swapped in for vests, bowties, gowns, skirts, pants, and tops.
ii. Dress II: Semi-Formal – All Black – SUNDAY DRESS CODE
The options are the following:
• Classy black suit, collared black long-sleeved shirt, with a solid black long tie
• All black full-length dress with long sleeves that do not rise above the elbow while performing
• All black full-length skirt; with black dressy top, with same sleeves as above
• All black, dressy or tailored formal pants or black pant suit; with black dressy top with same sleeves as above
• Solid black calf or knee-length socks or black full-length or knee-high stockings in sheer or opaque hosiery (no pattern/no fishnet) with dressy black shoes.
• Semi-Formal Alternative for Masterworks I: Color may be swapped in for vests, ties, gowns, skirts, pants, and tops.
FEED THE ORCHESTRA:
Volunteers for Symphony will offer a meal on Friday evening between rehearsals.
