Held before Video Games in Concert

Calling all heroes, villains, wizards, warriors, and game icons! Join us for a pre-show Cosplay Competition and celebrate your fandom before the Quad City Symphony Orchestra presents Video Games in Concert. Three incredible prizes will be awarded, with the grand prize being two QCSO at the Movies subscriptions (a $226 value)

The competition is free to enter, but entrants must have a ticket and be attending Video Games in Concert.

Who Can Participate

• All ages are welcome. Participants under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
• Costumes may be inspired by any fandom — not just video games.
• To enter, you must:
  • Have a ticket and be attending the QCSO’s Video Games in Concert on Saturday, May 10, 2025
  • Fill out the online entry form in advance

Costume Guidelines

• Costumes must not block the view of other patrons once seated for the concert.
• Costumes must be family-friendly (rated G or PG).
• Please avoid:
  • Excessive gore or horror effects
  • Overly revealing outfits
  • Inappropriate or offensive symbols, language, or imagery
• Costumes should be safe to walk in and not obstructive in crowded areas.

Prop & Weapon Policy

• No real weapons are allowed, including firearms, knives, or blunt objects.
• Prop weapons must be clearly fake and may be subject to inspection and peace-bonding by event staff.
• No functioning projectile weapons, such as Nerf guns, airsoft, or slingshots.

Safety & Conduct

• Costumes must allow for safe movement and clear vision.
• No open flames, smoke effects, or disruptive sound/lights permitted.
• Be respectful to all guests and staff. Disruptive or unsafe behavior may result in disqualification or removal.
• Cosplay is not consent – please ask before photographing or touching someone.

Judging & Photography

• All participants must check in at the Cosplay Station upon arrival.
• Judging will take place before the concert and is based on:
  • Creativity
  • Craftsmanship
  • Character presentation
• Winners will be announced before the concert begins. There will also be time for group photos.

Prizes

• First Place: 2 Subscriptions to QCSO at the Movies – Zone 1 Adult ($226 total value)
• Second Place: 2 Zone 1 Adult Tickets to either Jurassic Park in Concert or Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows™ Part 2 in Concert ($106 total value)
• Third Place: 2 General Admission Adult Tickets to QCBT Riverfront Pops: Chicago & More

Additional Event Information

Join us in the hallway connecting the RiverCenter to the Adler Theatre from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for Family-Friendly booths and activities.
