Quad City Bank & Trust Riverfront Pops to feature Music of Michael Jackson

In 1982 Michael Jackson released his mega-hit album Thriller just as Quad City Bank & Trust Riverfront Pops for the first time kicked off the Quad City Symphony Orchestra's performance season. Now, 31 years later, the King of Pop and the Quad Cities' favorite summer tradition are coming together when the Quad City Bank & Trust Riverfront Pops presents the Music of Michael Jackson on September 7 at 6:30 p.m. Voted "Hot Spot of the Year” by Young Professionals of the Quad Cities, this annual concert brings thousands to Davenport’s Le Claire Park every September. Tickets for Quad City Bank & Trust Riverfront Pops go on sale July 1.

From his early years with the Jackson 5 to Thriller and beyond, Michael Jackson stormed the music industry with hit after hit. Windborne's Music of Michael Jackson takes you through each era of this storied performer from ABC, I'll Be There, and Got To Be There through Beat It, Thriller, Rock With You, The Way You Make Me Feel, and many, many more.

The Music of Michael Jackson is the project of Berklee-trained arranger/conductor Brent Havens, who has written music for orchestras, feature films, and virtually every kind of television programming. He has worked with some of the world's greatest orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic in London, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Houston Symphony, the San Diego Symphony, and countless others. This is Havens' third engagement with the Quad City Symphony Orchestra, having previously presented the Music of Led Zeppelin and the Music of the Eagles.

The Music of Michael Jackson is fronted by vocalist James Delisco, crowned "The Entertainer" by Mr. Las Vegas, Wayne Newton himself, on the E! Network's reality TV series. After completing his one-million-dollar contract at the Las Vegas Hilton, where his show opened to rave reviews, "Delisco" continues to obtain critical acclaim in every market and venue on his recent world-wide touring. An energetic showroom performer, Delisco emanates old school charm with contemporary charisma. His handling of a song is so true to itself and to the purpose of music that a musical and entertainment revolution is only a matter of time for this enormously talented artist. Where classic quality meets edgy rock and soul style with undeniable stage presence, Delisco is the future of music and entertainment.

The gates open at 3:00 p.m. for seating in Le Claire Park, Davenport, with the concert beginning at 6:30 p.m. Shuttles will run from Central High School South Lot (11th and Harrison Streets), Palmer College (8th and Harrison Streets), and the Scott County Courthouse from 3:00 p.m. until concert time. Returning this year are all your favorite food vendors and the giant kids fun zone from Jumpin' Joey's Bounce Houses.
