The Quad City Symphony Orchestra’s "Masterworks V: Three B’s” concert features the world premiere of Rock Island Line by Jacob Bancks. The piece was inspired by the history and topography of the Quad Cities, and includes references to the river and train, as well as pays homage to the jazz legacy of native-son Bix Beiderbecke. The program also showcases Beethoven’s witty Symphony No. 8, bursting with musical surprises, and closes with the lyrical and cheerful Symphony No. 2 of Brahms.
