Economic Impact of Arts and Culture in the Quad Cities

Americans for the Arts has released the report recently facilitated by the Quad Cities Chamber to measure the economic impact of nonprofit arts and culture organizations and their audiences in the Quad Cities region.

The study, Arts & Economic Prosperity IV, revealed that the nonprofit arts and culture are a $71.34 million industry in the Quad Cities region - one that supports 1,906 full time equivalent jobs and generates $7.79 million in local and state government revenue.

Nonprofit arts and culture organizations, which spend $32.88 million each year, leverage a remarkable $38.46 million in additional spending by arts and culture audiences - spending that pumps vital revenue into local restaurants, hotels, retail stores, and other businesses.

The research found in Arts & Economic Prosperity IV shows that communities that support the arts and culture not only enhance their quality of life, they also invest in their economic well being.
