Join concertmaster Naha Greenholtz, and pianist Marian Lee on stage at Centennial Hall for a mystical evening of chamber music. Get chills from Tartini’s virtruosic “Devil’s Trill” Sonata inspired by a dream in which the devil himself performed for the composer “a sonata so wonderful and so beautiful … as [he] had never even conceived in my boldest flights of fantasy.” This enchanting program will carry you away with Paganini’s high-speed “Devil’s Chuckle” Caprice No. 13. You’ll hear the rattle of bones in Saint-Saëns’ dark symphonic poem, Dance Macabre. This devilishly good program closes with Corigliano’s Chaconne from the motion picture “The Red Violin” and Franck’s Sonata in A Major.
