Music Fundamentals Boot Camp

Join Ernesto Estigarribia, QCSYE Music Director, for a three week virtual summer camp which will include music theory and listening skills, music history, and interviews with professional musicians! This virtual camp will take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between July 13 – 31.

Interested participants should complete the Virtual Summer Camp Registration form and pay the $50 registration fee. Financial aid is available. Please contact Chelsea Schwarzkopf, QCSYE General Manager, with any questions. Limited spots available – Register today!

*Participants are required to read music and understand basic rhythms. Suggested age group: Grades 7-12.

Virtual Camp Dates
July 13, 15, and 17 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM
July 20, 22, and 24 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM
July 27, 29, and 31 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM

About Each Session

Mondays: Music Theory and Listening Skills
Students will be introduced to music theory, listening skills, and solfege to boost their musical skills and sight-reading abilities!

Wednesdays: Music History and Appreciation
This series of three interactive session will lead students through the history of orchestral music and explore great masterpieces that shaped the orchestra as we know it.

Fridays: Real Life
Students will meet and interview professional musicians from across the region. Students can submit questions for the interview in advance.
