Masterworks IV: Love

February 2, 2020 @ 2:00 pm CST

Experience the highs and lows of love through works inspired by famous couples.  We begin with Glinka’s exuberant and galloping Ruslan and Lyudmila Overture, contrasted by Fauré’s Pelléas et Mélisande Suite, a shadowy drama of doomed love.  Husband and wife duo Michael and Kyung Kim make their QCSO debut with Poulenc’s dazzling and delightful Concerto for Two Pianos, and the program closes with the tragic tale of star-crossed lovers in selections from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet.
