Masterworks IV: Bella & Brahms

February 4, 2023 @ 7:30 pm CST

Richard Wagner’s militaristic Rienzi Overture provides a spirited opener to this program before the centerpiece of the concert, Johannes Brahms’s intimate and evocative Third Symphony, with its flowing rhythms and lush, soaring melodies. Virtuoso violinist Bella Hristova returns to the Quad Cities to close the program with Dmitri Shostakovich’s boisterous and darkly comedic Violin Concerto No. 1.
